Insecurities pt.2

Image
Hey gems, I know one of your all time favorite blogs of mine is one I did that was about my insecurities. I talked about how certain items about me, my physical appearance and persannilty traits created huge insecurities. This was before I started working and before quarantine, I really feel like in the last yea some have stayed the same, and some insecurities have changed. So here we are, a year after the last insecurities blog I wrote and boy have things changed. I am now- sometimes- a full on adult. Sometimes I still choose to argue whether that is true or not (hi mama). But now over a year of working full time, a career that is blossoming, additional classes post undergrad, my relationship steady as ever and my whole family in a beautiful place. I think the last year may have changed how I see myself and my little world. 1. Body adjustments Now I have been very open about how my perception of my body has shifted pretty much constantly in the last few years. My body went fro...

Goal Setting

Image
Hey gems, I’ve been getting a lot of questions lately about tips for setting goals and how I set up my goals. I think this is coming up especially being so early in the New Year a lot of people are renewing the energy they put into their goals. I mentioned a few of my resolutions and goals for the year, so I thought I would start off with a few updates for you all! Firstly, I keep my job separate from the blog, but one of my big goals in 2020 was to work towards being promoted and I am happy to report that the New Year kicked off with a great start which included a promotion! Next up, one of the goals that has been recurring but that I have had a lot of difficulty sticking to in the as is working out and building a healthier lifestyle. Well, for the last three weeks I have successfully stuck to my workout plans of 3 times a week, sometimes more, and I have already seen a huge improvement in my energy, motivation and my body! Another goal of mine was to write a book, although th...

Why I Started Tia Things

Hey there my 2019 gems! I've been really busy but in the absolute best ways during the last few weeks. It got me thinking about different aspects of my life I haven't shared with you all and today's blog is one of them! I never really shared why I made the decision to start a blog in the first place so I thought today is the day! I started this blog in September with very low expectations, disappointed in my current job prospects and completely unsure of everything. Basically the thought of starting a blog had occurred to me before, but I wasn't confident in my skills with technology, didn't trust my previous writing skills and honestly, I didn't think my life was anywhere near interesting enough to write about. The timing of this blog is everything to me. It's one of those moments where you think "Yup the right time just worked out". Basically my writing skills and my comfort with different software improved because I am now in my last year of ...

Hey guys, Anyone else feeling the weight of the semester getting heavier or is that just me? I thought today I'd do something different than my tips and tricks and just let you guys know what I'm struggling with and what is happening that is keeping life so hectic! First of all, school is school. There's no escaping it and the moment you think you're ahead, you fall three steps behind. I am definitely feeling the stress and the expectations of profs getting more and more restraining. I feel like because I love school and generally do well, people think that I never have a hard time. Which could not be farther from the truth. I have such a hard time getting through stress and putting my worries to the side. I am a self diagnosed snow-baller. If you don't know what I am talking about, I basically think of one thing that can go wrong, then everything that will snowball from there and basically I'll end up living at home forever. Next up is work, my part ti...

Cry like a Girl

Image
Hey guys, Today I'd like to be super real with you guys! I'm going to go through the two most common things that people say to me that used to affect me the most, and sometimes still do. It doesn't matter if they are joking or not, these two phrases are always tough for me to hear. A Cry Baby I am a very emotional person. I tend to wear my heart on my sleeve and when I need to cry, or feel the tears coming, there's no way for me to hold them in. Even if, for example I'm in public and I want to hold back my tears, once I feel them coming, there's no stopping them. I used to be so embarrassed about this Sometimes, it still is so upsetting that as much as I want to be strong, I just can't keep myself from crying. This has led to me being called a crier, a big baby, sensitive, etc. People often call me a baby as a joke but what they don't know is that it hits pretty hard every time. I want to project a strong and confident image but being emotional m...
