Epic Girls' Weekend

Okay my gems time to get serious.
There are just times in life where the only answer to any problem is girl time. The weather cools, girl time. The post-holidays stress sets in, girl time. The answer is always girl time.

So, as the holidays ended and school was looming, we had an extravaganza! It started with flights being booked because we sadly don't all live in the same place. Then a plan was made and BAM we were ready to go! Honestly, the excitement of knowing a girls' weekend is coming is in itself enough! Also knowing sushi was involved, because I love sushi!

Here's how it went down! Picked up one cutie from the airport, and since everyone else was working that day, we had a little relaxing afternoon, watched a chick flick, unpacked, settled in and got ready for SUSHI!

Okay so to be super honest here, I think my extreme anticipation of the sushi night lead to my own problem. You know when you want something so bad and think about how amazing it will taste and then, you eat the sushi but it's just alright. Not bad, not great, but okay. So that was sushi! It was good, my girls were super funny and we were all excited because DUH Girls' Weekend!

Next up, we had a nice little sleep, relaxed, and got ready for a winter wonderland style afternoon. An ice rink in front of an huge Ferris wheel, YES PLZ! Let me be super honest here, I suck at skating. I'm not falling everywhere and running  into people, but I can't stop. It takes me a while to find my balance- I'm on blades so that one is acceptable to me- and I tend to have to hold onto someone or something. So yeah, not exactly figure skating material, but not exactly an accident waiting to happen either. Now that my full disclosure is out of the way, lets get back to skating. It was a really perfect afternoon. We went into this super cute rink, outdoor, with beautiful views. There was a DJ which was unexpected and awesome! I wasn't the most excited about this activity given my lack of skating abilities, but it was honestly a great Winter activity.

Okay, so after skating we had dinner back at my place and then watched one of my new obsession movies: Everything Everything. I'm going to link my previous blog on here because I did a review of the book and movie in my last blog. Okay so we watched this super adorable movie, then set up our sleeping arrangements which obviously include inflatable mattresses stuck together and attempting to make ourselves as comfortable as possible in a basement.

The following day was the big one, SPAAAAAAAAA!!!! Okay so if you follow my blog instagram(@TiaThingsblog) you know we went to a beautiful spa on the water which was actually right next  to the skating rink from the day before. So we spent a lot of time in the charming area with gorgeous views! The spa is on different levels which was gorgeous and it has different areas which allow talking or don't. Honestly, this was a slight problem because we are four Italian girls who cannot whisper if our lives depended on it. Yes, there is spa security. Yes, they came over to shush us a few times and then we got a little talk from one of them.  But hey, memories right?!

Post-spa, we had a chill night at one of our friend houses which consisted of pizza and lots of junk food! We then took the whole squad to disco bowling. Yes, that is a thing. Yes, there is a DJ. Yes, it's in the dark with club(ish) lights. I loved it! Guys, a 14$ night, so much fun, music, friends and me failing at bowling. Who could ask for more?

Our girls weekend ended the next  morning with a gorgeous brunch at my fave brunching spot and then after our final meal and girl chat, we dropped off those who needed at the airport, and then some went to nap, I went to work, and real life started up again!

I didn't get on a plane myself but this really felt like a vacation for me too. Absolutely needed this time for me to relax, remember the great things in life and gossip! Nothing like a girls weekend to kick off the new year before work and school get even more hectic!

Anyone else agree that a girl's weekend is the best medicine?
Talk soon,
Tia XX
