Social Media for your Business
Hey gems,
Today's blog is going to be a little different because it focuses on the business side of social media!
Pinterest: Pinterest has been booming over the last few years and has really been booming over the
last few years as a more and more credible platform. Although it is seen as a “mom” specific platform, the demographic of Pinterest is much wider. Many young adults enjoy going through Pinterest for ideas of DIYs, recipes and more. The scope of Pinterest is so wide including food, fashion and lifestyle. This means that any company can really adapt to the platform and thrive!
These are some easy ways to recognize each platform and what it can do for you. Be sure to never start an account on a platform if you aren’t going to commit to being present. When potential clients or current clients search your company they will find this page which hasn’t been tended to and it can discredit your business in terms of accessibility, transparency and presence.

Today's blog is going to be a little different because it focuses on the business side of social media!
As the tide
of social media and creations of new platforms roll through, there are many
adjustments to be made by any business owner. There are different sites, ways
to connect to new clients, communities being created and more. The difficulty
herein lies with the constant updates, new uses, additions, etc. However,
using these tools can be the difference between a potential client picking you
or a competitor. Each
platform has specific uses, and the truth is, knowing when and how to use each
is critical.
LinkedIn: LinkedIn is a business and
corporate focused platform where reputations can be built and visibility earned
quickly. By using your LinkedIn for aspects such as job postings, company
achievements, new hires, etc. you create a transparent and honest discussion
with your community, clients and employees. This makes your brand more
reputable as in the last few years transparency in any business is key!
Instagram: Instagram is a more personal and
conversational tool where you can respond to comments, post photos both business
and not business angled and keep your clients up to date on all aspects of your
business! Instagram has grown and maintained it’s importance over the last few
years as a platform where all users, business or not, can feel important.
Twitter: Twitter has shifted dramatically
over the last few years and has now become highly used as a customer service
platform. By looking at the feeds of Companies such as Wendy’s and Uber, you
see that they reply to customer complaints, joke about competitors by lightly
‘trolling’ them and use the platform to connect in an informal but respectable
manor. Twitter isn’t necessarily at the top of the business needs for smaller,
more concentrated businesses but if you have a younger, more vocal clientele,
it definitely is something to consider.
Facebook: Facebook is a steady platform where
longer format posts are more acceptable. Facebook is where you can blend the
factors of each other the above mentioned platforms into the one when you have
news or both business and more informal news such as company events.
