Twitter Obsession

Hey there my gems!
I have a blog update for you all! As you know my blog has it's own Instagram and Twitter, but truthfully I've been way more focused on the Instagram account than the twitter. The reason for this, is that I personally love Instagram in general, my personal account is so fun and I've never had Twitter so it was way more intimidating for me to start.

The first time I experienced Twitter was for a class project this semester. We had to try to get celebrities and their fans to reply to us. As most of you know, fans are viciously protective of their idols. What I also realized pretty quickly is that there was no response to positive tweets or questions, but most replies were to negative comments. I tried asking questions and being supportive to various celebrities and getting involved in feeds but got minimal response. Since the exercise required me to get fans' attention I finally found a post where I could comment something which I thought would get attention without being negative. It was a male singer (no names) who posted an image and Happy Birthday message to his girlfriend, also a singer. The image he used though was of her in a very revealing and sexy outfit. I simply posted "Love the message, so sweet. Just wondering why you chose this picture instead of one with her kids? Or one displaying her hard work?"... Not too bad or negative right? Boy did I get attacked for that one. The second the assignment was over I deleted that account and I was permanently terrified of the negativity that is Twitter.

Fast-forward to today, I've been pushing myself both on my blog, on social media  and personally to achieve higher goals than I had ever planned. This includes finally using the Twitter account I had set up for my blog. I followed a few people, started tweeting and looked for other bloggers to follow. Woah, next thing I know I'm up 140 followers in one day and this side of twitter is supportive, helpful and sweet. Not to mention hilarious.

Now after just a few days of applying myself on Twitter and working hard on my account presence I have almost 200 followers and I'm aiming to hit 500 in early 2019. Yes my goals are sometimes wild, but hey, they just might happen if I work hard enough.

That's my update on my roller coaster relationship with Twitter. I do have to say that it can be exhausting to keep up with social media and be constantly present, but it's a challenge that I'm really rising to right now and I can't wait to see what happens!!

Follow my blog on Instagram and Twitter @ Tiathingsblog for both!
Happy Tweeting!
