Holiday Spoilers
Hey there my gems!
The holidays are the time of year where everyone wants to spoil the important people in their lives, but unfortunately, that's not always possible. Some of us being students, newly in the job market or low on cash for any reason makes it hard for a lot of us to give the way we wish we could. I LOVE spoiling the people I care about. I would constantly buy things for the people close to me if I could, but being a student and working part-time, that is definitely not happening.
There are so many ways that you can show your love for the people around you. Cooking them their favorite meal, baking them their favorite cookies, a marathon of their favorite movies, etc. Show them you care doesn't mean spending millions, it means putting in thought and showing it.

The truth is, I've learnt that most of the time the things you don't buy, the things you make, create or do yourself, mean so much more than anything you can buy in a store. Some examples of the best gifts I've ever gotten which were homemade include poems written for me, "coupons" giving me freebies to my favorite things such as a restaurant, etc. These are just some small examples, but I also love giving DIY gifts. With the holidays coming close, here are some ideas of easy and thoughtful ways to show you care without breaking the bank!
1. Scrapbooks
Using pictures of your best times with someone is an ideal way to show that they matter and that you remember and love that moment. You can go as simple as one image in a frame, or as far as a scrapbooks too. I've made "The story of us" books for my boyfriend, multiple photo albums for friends, etc. I think this is a really sweet way of mixing photos and little blurbs without forcing yourself to write a novel.
2. Coupons
Coupons are also a great way to show you care. I mentioned this before but think of them this way: coupons can be anything for anyone. For example, a "borrow one top" coupon for my sister, a "you pick the restaurant" coupon for my boyfriend, or a "I'll cook dinner" for my mom. There are so many examples and the ideas are endless. Anyone can make these and can create a super cute set of coupons by simply cutting some paper and writing on it.
3. Lists
A list of reasons why someone is important to you is pretty much a punch in the face of compliments.I love you because... and the list can go on for as long as you have ideas to keep you writing. Some people aren't great at taking compliments, myself included, but reading them is a lot easier than having to sit there and listen to them. Writing them shows you put in thought and effort, but also allows the receiver to have them for safe keeping.
4. Jars
Jars are something which are super cute, and you can fill them with anything and everything. Fill them with notes, favorite candies or chocolates, etc. Anything that shows you put thought into the act. If the one you're spoiling likes to draw; put in pencils, crayons, etc. Jars allow you to show how well you know them, and care at the same time. Not to mention, they usually come in threes which allow you to show just how great you are. The more spoiling the merrier!

Spoiler alert, I think I'm doing all of the above this Holiday season. For extra points, definitely try these outside of the holiday season, "just because" is the best motivation and everyone loves to be spoiled for no reason.
