Summer to Fall Fashion 101

Hey gems, Lately the weather is keeping me on my toes with some cool rainy days mixed with hot summer style afternoons. It definitely is difficult because one half of me wants to cuddle in knit sweaters and the other wants to keep summer going as long as possible. So I've come up with a few ways to blend my fashion love and still be on trend. Hair I'm a big fan of keeping my hair up in buns, high pony tails, and away from my face in the summer time but in the fall and winter I usually keep it down. I'm torn with the weather being what it is, I leave the house cold and when I leave work in the evening it's warm and I have to put my hair up. I started to notice a lot of people digging into the head band trend and thought that might be a good middle for my hair! Boy am I obsessed! I use the cutest head bands for things like when I am doing my makeup in the morning, to keep my hair out of my face all day. Not to mention, it's a great middle between hair up and hair...

Holiday Spoilers

Image
Hey there my gems! The holidays are the time of year where everyone wants to spoil the important people in their lives, but unfortunately, that's not always possible. Some of us being students, newly in the job  market or low on cash for any reason makes it hard for a lot of us to give the way we wish we could. I LOVE spoiling the people I care about. I would constantly buy things for the people close to me if I could, but being a student and working part-time, that is definitely not happening.  The truth is, I've learnt that most of the time the things you don't buy, the things you make, create or do yourself, mean so much more than anything you can buy in a store. Some examples of the best gifts I've ever gotten which were homemade include poems written for me, "coupons" giving me freebies to my favorite things such as a restaurant, etc. These are just some small examples, but I also love giving DIY gifts. With the holidays coming close, here are some i...

Winter Skin Care Routine

Image
Hey my gems! I thought you might like to know my Winter skin care routine and how it differs from my normal skincare routine. The cold and the dry weather definitely affect my skin so here's my routine and my products! Morning: Full body moisture! I've used different moisturizers for my body but I am currently using the Nivea Deep Care and Repair and love the deep moisture it gives my skin. It also has some coconut and I love the feeling. For my face I use the Celeste Face moisturizer from Lush. I'm absolutely obsessed with it, it's not too heavy, but definitely enough that I feel the difference. Mid day: This depends on whether I'm home or not, if I'm at school I have a portable hand moisturizer which I apply after lunch- don't ask me why the time is so specific it just works! However if I'm home I tend to stay away from moisturizing mid day because I didn't go into the cold and don't want to constantly overwhelm my skin. Evening: The ...

Winter Tea Haul

Image
Happy Winter my gems! It's officially here, no way of hiding from the snow and cold now. This is definitely the season where David's Tea is a constant in my life and my trusty travel mug never leaves my hand. I figured since I love tea so much and I consume an outrageous amount of it I'd go through my top teas for the cold weather. So snuggle up to that fireplace with your cozy throw blanket and get sipping! Mother's Little Helper : The time change, lack of sun and exam season really make sleep something to be desired. This is why I am absolutely obsessed with Mother's Little Helper. It's a smooth, slightly fruity taste, that will help you sleep peacefully even if your alarm is set for 6 am. Cold 911 & Sore Throat Tea : The Winter also brings in runny noses and scratchy throats which is why I really love these two teas, they both taste amazing and I drink them even when I'm not sick. They both are low in caffeine too which means morning or night, you...

Fall Fashion Staples

Image
Hey guys! Fall is officially here in all her glory and it's time to talk Fall Fashion!!! Here are my must have fall Fashion Staples! Blanket scarf Honestly, if you don't own a blanket scarf you're doing fall weather all wrong! Who doesn't want to basically carry around a comforter with them all day? Be able to wrap themselves up and cuddle themselves whenever they wish! Not to mention everyone around you also has one so no one is judging you  basically carrying a big ass blanket with you. Leather Jacket The classic leather jacket is an alternative to the gazillion of sweater and cardigans I'm sure you own! Not only can it be added to those sweaters and cozy outfits to add a small edgy vibe but it can be worn completely separately. Not to mention, when the weather gets a little warmer and it's in that award phase where it's too cold for no sweater but too warm for a knit sweater, BOOM leather jacket. Raining and you can't wear a knit or it...
