The Best Advice I've Ever Gotten

Image
Hey there my gems, On my blog's Instagram (@tiathingsblog) I did a poll asking for what you want to see next in the blog and I absolutely loved this suggestion! There are three pieces of advice that stand out to me immediately when I think of the best advice I've ever gotten and they are the words I live by. 1. No one is looking There are a lot of things I wish I could change about myself. The biggest thing being how much I care about what people think of me. I wish I didn't, I really do. The truth is that sometimes, it feels like everyone is judging me, watching me, laughing at me, even when they may not have even noticed me. It's a weird feeling, to think that everyone is scrutinizing you. I hate it and I think a lot of the time it comes form the pressure I put on myself. My mom is the one who told me "T, no one cares, no one is looking, no one will remember." All of which might sound harsh or irrelevant but when you're walking down a crowded hall th...

Midterm Survival Guide

Image
Hey guys!  Tis' the season of midterms, which means no sleep, sweat pants and a LOT of coffee. But don't worry Tia Things has some quick tips and tricks to make midterm season slightly less unbearable.. as hard as that is to do! So here are some of my tips to survive those midterm exams. 1. Schedule Knowing when all your exams are and being able to schedule around them your study time and your social life makes a huge difference. Not to mention you can get some sleep knowing you have time for everything that is coming. SCHEDULES ARE KEY PEOPLE! 2. Don't over do it! Yes you have a lot going on; School, work, friends and now these exams on top of it. So keep in mind that there is enough going on at the moment and it isn't time to take extra shifts at work, join any clubs or go p...

This year, summer was emotional, unexpected, beautiful, and terrifying. Through the good, bad and sweaty, summer kept me on my toes, so here's a little tribute to summer '18.  The season started by taking all the plans I had made, and flipping them upside down. Not only, was I supposed to spend a MONTH on vacation with my closest friends and family, but I wasn't going to work, possibly go to Disney and spend 31 days with my toes in the sand. It was supposed to be THE summer of ALL summers. But then it wasn't. Some mix up at the office meant my parents couldn't take the time off, and there was no hope for me to take off on my own, so I cried and said adios to my dream summer and aloha to NOTHING. Too late to take hours at work, plan another vacation or make any plans remotely close to a month on the beach. So there I was, mid may, knowing exactly 5 things: 1. I was not going on vacation. 2. I was now signed up to 3 summer courses at school. 3. My...
