Class of 2019

Image
Hey there my gems, I haven't been writing in quite a while but I wanted to let you all know that I am officially a University graduate!! I walked across the stage a few weeks ago and haven't gotten a chance to let you know but it's time to let you all in on how it went down! Even though classes ended months ago and I've been working full time ever since, I loved every moment of the long ceremony. Let's start with the fact that it was a three hour long event which, as much as I appreciate the speeches, was SO LONG. I honestly thought all the way up to the day of that I would be super unaffected by the whole day. I knew I was graduating, I had been working for months, I didn't at all feel sad to be leaving school and I really wasn't excited about attending my ceremony because I thought it would be long and boring. Then the day came, next thing I know my hair and nails are being done and the whole family is dressed up. I started to feel nostalgic and a lit...

Graduation Time!

Image
Hey there my gems, Long time no talk! It definitely has been a busy time as the school year is wrapping up. How are you all been doing? I have been super busy but the good news is: TODAY IS MY OFFICIAL LAST DAY! As everything is coming to an end, this is much more then just another end of semester. For those of you who don't know, I'm graduating this May! Graduation is a huge milestone, but it has been extremely bitter sweet for me. Not only have I always loved school but I also really enjoyed University specifically. My program, classes and teachers, were all amazing, which makes it so much harder to say goodbye. Although this last semester was the hardest yet, it also had my internship which was a highlight and I got a job offer! So many great things have happened this semester and although it's been a long one, I'm so proud of myself for not only the last semester but the last three years. I'm so excited tot start my new job in PR, get into a new routine, ...

How to Survive University

Image
Hey there my busy bees! Life has some hectic moments, and although I've loved school all my life, university has definitely been a tough three years. There's been a mix of perfect and hectic times but through it all I learned so much. Here are some tips to staying ahead and surviving the three-four years of university you might be in! 1. Lists The best thing to do to keep up with assignments, part time jobs, exams, and readings is to make lists. It sounds a little redundant maybe, but being able to see what you have to do, in what order and when it is all due, is extremely helpful. 2. Everyone is in the same boat I know this sounds a little obvious but when things are at their most hectic, it helps to remember that you're not the only one trying to keep up. Everyone is working and attending school, some from far away and some work 3 jobs. We're all just trying to manage and survive through it all. Leaning on people around you, opening up, and being honest about...

March Break

Image
Hey there my gems! March break is around the corner and I don’t know about you but I couldn’t be more prepared for a week of relaxing, enjoyment and low(er) stress! Although the main goal for most people is to go away, and I totally understand wanting to go to the sunshine, but for those of us staying home there is still hope for a perfect week! Not to mention for my hometown not all schools have the same March break. That means it can be harder to plan some group things but when it works out it’s definitely worth it! 1. The Spa Listen you all already know how much I love going to the spa, relaxing and pretending to be on another planet! The spa is a great and easy way to take some time and recharge your batteries! I’m going with my boyfriend but it’s a great family or friends activity too! 2. Girls day Okay so this week, I have a mega girls day planned! From nails to lunch and downtown shopping! Super excited to get my shopping on and have some quality girl time with my bestie!...

Midterm Survival Guide

Image
Hey guys!  Tis' the season of midterms, which means no sleep, sweat pants and a LOT of coffee. But don't worry Tia Things has some quick tips and tricks to make midterm season slightly less unbearable.. as hard as that is to do! So here are some of my tips to survive those midterm exams. 1. Schedule Knowing when all your exams are and being able to schedule around them your study time and your social life makes a huge difference. Just the fact that you are mentally prepared for a crazy week helps it pass easier. You can schedule study sessions, breaks and time away from anything school related to keep yourself sane. Not to mention you can get some sleep knowing you have time for everything that is coming. SCHEDULES ARE KEY PEOPLE! 2. Don't over do it! Yes you have a lot going on; School, work, friends and now these exams on top of it. So keep in mind that there is enough going on at the moment and it isn't time to take extra shifts at work, join any clubs or go p...

Summer's Salute!

Image
This year, summer was emotional, unexpected, beautiful, and terrifying. Through the good, bad and sweaty, summer kept me on my toes, so here's a little tribute to summer '18.  The season started by taking all the plans I had made, and flipping them upside down. Not only, was I supposed to spend a MONTH on vacation with my closest friends and family, but I wasn't going to work, possibly go to Disney and spend 31 days with my toes in the sand. It was supposed to be THE summer of ALL summers. But then it wasn't. Some mix up at the office meant my parents couldn't take the time off, and there was no hope for me to take off on my own, so I cried and said adios to my dream summer and aloha to NOTHING. Too late to take hours at work, plan another vacation or make any plans remotely close to a month on the beach. So there I was, mid may, knowing exactly 5 things: 1. I was not going on vacation. 2. I was now signed up to 3 summer courses at school. 3. My...
