Low Budget Holiday Ideas

 Good morning gems,

I hope you’re having a great week and enjoying family time! I know for me, knowing the holidays are coming up has been so helpful to my mood!

I wanted to share some low budget holiday ideas because I know a lot of us are struggling with income changes, not to mention not being able to shop as we are used to for the holidays.

Cookies

First things first, there is nothing that screams holidays to me more than some home baked cookies. Peppermint, chocolate,  gingerbread, sugar cookies and everything in between. You can spread some holiday cheer and love by making some homemade cookies and buying some super cute boxes and wrapping items at the dollar store that are adorable! A great way to spread some sweetness and keep the adorable factor up!

Get crafty!

I love receiving crafty gifts. Whether it be a photo frame with some beautiful photos, a hat or scarf knit by someone I love or beautiful art. The fact that people mix their passions with gifting always works and makes me feel so special.

Holiday Cards

I am a sucker for a good holiday card, whether it be decorated by the kiddos of the family or a beautiful photo printed on it, these are momentos that never fail. I also love the personalized messages and especially knowing people took the time to write me a personalized and caring message. If you live away from family and friends, there is no need to buy everyone gifts, sometimes words are what really warm the heart.

Budgeting

Yes, budgeting is very important during the holiday shopping time, but something that helps immensely to keep budgets lower is to do a gift exchange or secret Santa. This requires way less gifts to be purchased and everyone still gets something special. Not only will you feel better, but you will certainly be relieving other of the financial stress of the holidays as well!

Gift cards

Finally, don’t know what to get someone? Instead of getting towels, blankets and other items that they may not want, get them a gift card to a place you know they enjoy. Spend the money on something you know will be used and enjoyed by them!

Happy gifting loves!
