Self Love Club

 Hey gems,

So I have been doing a lot of thinking lately about myself, my blog and the way I've been feeling lately. I really had a few moments of realization lately where I catch myself being very harsh with myself. I catch the horrible comments I tell myself and realize I want to make a change. Its easy to talk about, fake, smile, but its truly difficult to live fully loving ourselves. I realized that the things I was thinking of myself, I would never ever say to another human being, so why would I say that to myself?

I wanted to open this conversation by starting off with the reality around us. I am constantly told "oh shush you're skinny" as if I am not allowed to be unhappy with my body simply because it fits into the "skinny" category. This really infuriates me and I fully take responsibility for doing to others as well. I think we all have a right to be insecure and have moments of uncertainty.

So ladies, men and all animal creatures let's start to treat ourselves like we treat others.

I am going to be starting a Self Love Club, on Saturdays sharing stories of self love, insecurity and difficulties so that we can all come together in learning how to truly appreciate ourselves for everything we are other than a body. We are talented, smart, persevering, inspiring, and so much more. So I have to hear your stories, your struggles and your major "AHA" life moments.

Let's share in the love, in the struggle and in the reality of the imperfect perfection that we truly are.

Love,

T

I think the Self Love Club is a brilliant idea!

I can identify with you on the point on not being allowed to be unhappy with your own body because I feel that way sometimes too. I've made comments about myself and people don't seem to understand and tell me to be quiet because I'm regarded as skinny.

I guess we all have things we don't like about our bodies regardless of what size we are and we should be free to express that without judgement.
