Fall Trends 2020

Hey my gems,

I know you are all so excited for fall because even though the weather is cooling down it means sweater weather that we all love. I have to say summer is by far my favourite season but there is something about fall that has its own bit of magic! First trend of the year so far is definitely my FAVE: The Fanny Pack

Yes, technically this trend came out a few seasons ago but we were all quarantined so that doesn't count! Now we are out and about (safely) and LIVING for the joy and style of the fanny. Yes, we used to judge our parents for wearing these. Yes, we now consider them cool. Yes, the mom jeans have now translated to all outfits being inspired by our lame parents and I AM LOVING IT. The pandemic brought out the need to useful and comfortable fashion and this is the way of life from now on!

Next up is something that has been trending in the summer seasons, sets. Yes, we have all loved the look of sets for a long time, but the new sets of sweat suits and cozy sets have been amazing. The loungewear industry is hitting new heights making our lazy and WFH looks as stylish and comfortable as ever!

The last thing that I love about fall trends this year is how elevated and outdoorsy they are. Everything is based on level of comfort but that doesn't mean it can't be cute and current. It has been a tough and trying year for a lot of us and I love how fashion has developed a quirky and sassy way to communicate that. With quotes and images that support #BLM (as they should) and funny shirts about the pandemic, staying inside, etc. We now speak volumes simply walking into a room. What we wore always had a message but now that message is more vibrant and important than ever, and I really applaud the fashion industry for not sitting back and watching the world go by but rather be a part of the movement.

 Hi Gems,  Wow it has been a while. The last time I wrote and published on here was in October which honestly feels like a lifetime. As the holidays came and went, we rang in the new year and I find myself thinking a lot about not only lessons learned this year but the direction I want to aim for when going into 2024.  As you may know if you follow my other platforms, I am getting married this year which feels surreal! Furniture shopping

 Hey gems,  I hope you are all enjoying the sunshine as summer is approaching! We have been busy trying to pick out all the furniture for the new place. It has been quite a wild journey to get here so I thought I would take some time to review everything that has been going on! Firstly, my favourite store by far is Structube , it is my favourite place and has such a great variety of items but way less overwhelming then a big store like Ikea.  The first thing we picked is our dining table and chairs. The chairs are warm brown leather and the table has a fake live edge that I LOVE! This was the easiest item to choose by far! This is all in a warm theme and tones that will go well with the dark floors and cabinets. We also have been very budget conscious in the whole process and the table was a great price for a larger size so this was a no-brainer.  The next main items I picked out are decor because I had some very specific ideas like a gallery wall and big mirrors! Low budget Fall (lockdown) date ideas

Hey gems! How is everyone doing? Recently I have had to get super creative when it comes to date nights especially with the new lockdown we are limited in where we can go. So of course date night often include walks because not only is it great to get fresh air but it helps with the mental components of being stuck inside. We get tired of them quick though and need to mix it up during the week so here is what I came up with! Turn TV into games: You can chose any show or movie you are watching and turn it into a game! For example, every time a certain character says their catch phrase you either take a bite, drink or do something silly that you both agree on! it can be something silly or answering any question! This basically gets as creative as you want to! Newlywed game (quiz) Basically any type of quizzing each other on how well you know each other! We did this with my sister and her boyfriend as a competition but it can be fun just between the two of you as well! This is super cute ...
