Summertime haircare

Hey gems!
I have been digging into my hair care this summer for so many reasons! Not only is my hair longer than ever before, but it has been dyed more than before as well as so the effects of the sun are really visible this year! I found some products and routines that I have been LOVING so I thought I would share my current hair routine with you all!

Washing:
I generally only wash my hair once a week. Now this may seem gross to many of you, but washing too much is actually really unhealthy for the natural oils in your hair. My rule of thumb is generally if I sweat a lot or workout I will wash it additional times, if not, then only on Saturdays.

Water Washes
About every Wednesday I wash my hair with water. I know, this sounds super weird, but w
hen your hair is starting to appear oily but you don't want to shampoo it, a great way to extend its duration is to wash it under the water of the shower, same as you would normally by scrubbing but without any shampoo.

Conditioning 1:
After my water washes is when I do my first conditioning of the week. To clarify, I condition twice in the summer and both times with very different products. After my water wash, I put on a hair mask which has Moroccan oils in it. This is a much heavier conditioning product but it really good to do weekly for hair care. I always noticed my hair texture being a little dead after water washes so this is a great way to extend the look and feel of your hair at the same time as you nurture it.

Wash & Condition 2
My normal wash involves my purple shampoo to maintain my hair colour and then once rinsed and my shower is finished, I go into my FAVOURITE product, the Ouai leave-in conditioner spray. I have found a new love for conditioning lately. I really feel like before I never saw the benefits of it, but now that my hair has been dyed and bleached a few times, boy oh boy is it a must!

Add to this regular brushing and mixing the amount of time my hair spends tied up vs loose, and voila! Summer haircare at its finest!

Let me know if you love these or other products I should try!

Talk soon,
T
