2019: Thank you, Next.
Hey gems,

With the end of the year coming at us quick, I love to remind myself of the greatness that was 2019. When I first thought about the year in review, I really didn't think much of it! I mean there were a few moments that stood out but all very natural so I chalk it up as a decent year and moved on. But when I come to think of it, 2019 was an epic year. I got my first internship at my dream work location, met all kinds of amazing people and gained so much confidence. I then went on to get my first full-time job and take my first major steps into building a career. I went on work trips, was trusted with clients and really feel as though 2019 brought me more self-confidence than any other year.
Not only this but I also got to travel to my best friend 3 times this year! More than any of the past years! I also was able to travel this summer with my family and enjoy a beautiful summer season. I really feel as though, although my social life still needs some attention, I did spend time with the people who matter most, and added a few new faces to that group as well.
The mix of work, independence in my travels and multiple new projects, have created a beautiful new balance where my self-confidence is at an all time high, my belief in my own abilities in the office and out are soaring, and although there were some difficulties the year brought me so much more then experiences, it brought me immense faith in myself and a renewal of energy for my own personal projects just like this blog!
Another huge moment for 2019 is the fact that I graduated. This was an epic moment that was truly unexpected. Yes, I knew I was graduating, yes, I knew I was finishing school, but no I really didn't think I would be emotional about any of those aspects. The day came and when my Cap and Gown went on, a rush of emotions and memories flooded me. Not to mention the realization that although I was already at my full time job for over a month, I really truly was moving onto adulthood. I have so much pride for my route through school, I always did more than necessary, extra courses during the holidays, tutoring on my breaks, etc. and it was far from easy but I am so proud that I was able to walk across that stage with no regrets and a lot of happiness.
I feel as though a lot of the epic moments were career oriented in 2019 but I also really cherish the smaller moments that might not seem epic to anyone else like a weekend away with my boyfriend, a spa day with my best friend, my first car (payments to go with it), balcony chats with my soulmate bestie, every time I hear my sister come home from work, every time my dad made horrible joke, my mom's new recipe experiments, and so much more.
Through the highs and lows I think 2019 will be a year I always hold dear to my heart and wow, what a way to end a decade.
Now I can't wait to kick off 2020 with so many adventures in the works, trips in the planning and memories that will last me into the next decade and forever.
Cheers to the new year my gems, live it with all you've got!
