Golden Girl
Hey my gems!Okay so I have a hard time making my outfits pop in the Winter because I'm stuck with certain boots, sweaters, etc. So even though my outfit is bomb I don't always feel fabulous because I know people have already seen it. This season I've really been working on adding simple touches to my looks that don't add any prep time or require me shopping, because I'm trying to save time and money!
Saving time and money isn't easy when you love fashion. Lately, I've been digging into the items I own and seeing what I can work with or incorporate into my looks to make them a little more jazzed up. This is how I realized I actually own so much more jewelry than what I use.
I tend to stick to the same three pieces which include my graduation ring, my Pandora bracelet and a gold necklace. The thing is, for a long time I wouldn't mix yellow gold and silver jewelry. In fact, I barely wore my yellow gold jewelry because I only had a few pieces and I was never a fan of the color.
I started wearing my jewelry more often to add some sparkle and shine to my re-worn outfits and that's when I started mixing white and yellow gold. This is 100% my new styling obsession. Add some glam to any look and make it pop even more by mixing silver and gold tones. First of all when done right, this is such a classy and elegant look. Not to mention it makes an outfit go from everyday to every-slay!
So here are a few things to remember when wearing jewelry and mixing colors and tones! Over doing it can completely ruin the look so try to be understated, classy but definitely shine. Try to mix with colors that work well for example, wearing white and black means you can play more with your jewelry but if your outfit is busy with patterns and colors, maybe consider toning the jewelry down! Also, it's amazing to have big statement making pieces but that means toning down the little additions. Whereas a ring or two, can mix much more with bracelets and necklaces than a huge chunky choker could. Don't forget to keep the shine and sparkle in mind. The shine of your jewelry draws attention so don't go full glam to an office meeting, or wear that diamond encrusted watch to McDonald's. Know when and where to use your shine and dig deep into your sparkle.
Moral of this post? Live it up my queens with gold, silver and anything else you wish!
Talk soon,
Tia
