The Best of 2018

Hey gems!
With the new year coming up I thought it would be super fun to go over the best of 2018! This includes moments, ideas, achievements, etc. Because really I need to give myself props and realize that there's nothing wrong with that.

I have to start with the most obvious: Starting this blog. I started my blog after months of procrastination in September 2018 and within just three months have amassed over 3000 views and hundreds of Instagram and Twitter followers! (@Tiathingsblog). This blog has been such a positive outlet for me, a creative space, a challenge and a blessing. Through the amazing messages of support, the responses to my writing style and the creative demands, I truly feel that starting this blog was the right way for me to go and I'm so proud of my timing.

Summer 2018 was a roller-coaster ride. After my dream vacation was cancelled, I pushed myself through the overwhelming disappointment to create memories in my hometown and try all kinds of new activities. From restaurants, to rooftops, to water slides and mini getaways! My summer was full of amazing adventures big and small. I think sometimes it really is true that you don't always see what's right outside your door, and Summer 2018 definitely pushed me to explore and appreciate my hometown!

Guys, I have to say that 2018 has so many incredible memories and moments for me that the act of creating those moments is one of my favorite things about this year. I really had allowed my social life to take a back seat for a long while and I challenged myself to get back out there. It really paid off. I'm not always the most comfortable in social situations so this year was really great for me to put myself out there and allow myself to make memories with people who matter most to me. I learnt so much about myself and about the people around me, this was definitely a top of 2018!

Finally, I think 2018 was the year of challenges. Not that the world challenged me, but that I challenged myself. I sent articles to various news papers and I'm now a published author. I started this blog and worked very hard at it. I applied to many internships and got multiple offers. I am close to graduation and finally feeling like I'm more and more ready to take on the world. 2018 was a year of growth and empowerment and I really cannot wait to see what I achieve and what amazing surprises 2019 has in store for me!!

Think back over your year and appreciate the good and the bad. It's so important to do this rather than tossing the year away because of bad moments. Use everything you got this year, whether you liked it or not, learn from it all, be a boss, and move on.

You got this! 2019 isn't ready for us my gems!
Cheers to 2018!
