Why I love "Thank you, next"
Hey there my gems,
So much new music has been coming out and I'm living for it! From country to rap, pop to rock, I love music and I always want some background jams on. Right now, I am absolutely loving Ariana Grande's new song "Thank you, next"!
Not only is it an absolute BOP, but the lyrics are so powerful and I'm sure, inspiring young women all over the world. I can't say that I'm a longtime devoted Ari fan, but she's definitely been blowing up the charts and no one can ignore the fact that she puts out hit after hit. She's gone through so much in the past few years and the strength she seems to have found in herself is coming through so strongly in her music.
The acknowledgement of every lesson she's learnt from each relationship, the repetition of her gratefulness for the lessons learned, her strength, etc. all bring a really beautiful breath of fresh air. We are so used to break up songs being dis tracks, causing drama and hitting below the belt. instead, Ari uses this moment to show women all over the world that there is nothing wrong with going through a break up and taking everything, both negative and positive, as a learning experience.
This is one of the first moments for me where a young female musician is showing herself as the strong independent and inspiration figure she could be even after heartbreaking loses. Although people like Taylor Swift have done similar songs, there always seems to be an underlying negative energy towards their exes. This song is an absolute anthem and if you haven't heard it yet GET TO IT!
