Life update: I AM ENGAGED!

Welcome back to my blog!

Today we are talking all things engagement! My longtime boyfriend and I are engaged! It happened one evening after work, the day before we left on our trip! I got home to our living space filled with roses, candles and of course OREOS! Not only was it incredibly romantic but extremely shocking as I thought it would happen during the trip or later on closer to the holidays. 

The moment was not only so romantic, personal and is what my dreams are made of! We have since started planning and are officially set for a summer 2024 wedding! It is such a surreal moment in life to have something you have been thinking of for so long happen and unfold! 

2022 has definitely been a year that I will cherish forever, at 25 I did 10 trips, grew my career, got engaged and continued to build my friendships. As we close out the year, there is truly no regret on my mind as I dive into the possibilities of 2023!

 Hey gems,  I hope you are all enjoying the sunshine as summer is approaching! We have been busy trying to pick out all the furniture for the new place. It has been quite a wild journey to get here so I thought I would take some time to review everything that has been going on! Firstly, my favourite store by far is Structube , it is my favourite place and has such a great variety of items but way less overwhelming then a big store like Ikea.  The first thing we picked is our dining table and chairs. The chairs are warm brown leather and the table has a fake live edge that I LOVE! This was the easiest item to choose by far! This is all in a warm theme and tones that will go well with the dark floors and cabinets. Low budget Fall (lockdown) date ideas

Hey gems! How is everyone doing? Recently I have had to get super creative when it comes to date nights especially with the new lockdown we are limited in where we can go. So of course date night often include walks because not only is it great to get fresh air but it helps with the mental components of being stuck inside. We get tired of them quick though and need to mix it up during the week so here is what I came up with! Turn TV into games: You can chose any show or movie you are watching and turn it into a game! For example, every time a certain character says their catch phrase you either take a bite, drink or do something silly that you both agree on! it can be something silly or answering any question! This basically gets as creative as you want to! Newlywed game (quiz) Basically any type of quizzing each other on how well you know each other! We did this with my sister and her boyfriend as a competition but it can be fun just between the two of you as well! This is super cute

Dear 2020

Dear 2020, You certainly threw us for a loop didn’t you? We were all chanting about 20/20 vision and you thought “Ha just wait and see!”. Not only did you show us just how quickly we can lose everything we thought we would always have, you have given us a new appreciation for things we used to let go unnoticed.  In March, we all thought we were getting a fun two weeks of break, two weeks working from home, a little fun time. Boy oh boy did we learn pretty quick that we would be home and confided longer and with more restrictions added on weekly.  At first, part of me loved it. I’ve always been a home body but man did that get pushed to every limit possible. I never wished I can do little things like go to the movies or a mall without being terrified of how many items I’m touching more in my life. 2020 has given us the gift of perception.
