One year of Tia Things

Wow gems, One year.

365 days, 52 weeks, and 70 blog posts.
It’s been one year since the creation of this blog and everything that goes along with it. 365 days of letting you into my world and sharing my experiences with whomever is reading. When I first started the blog, I really intended for it to be a hobby, a personal outlet and for only my mom to read (but really though). Next thing I know, I’ve written over 80 blogs and have thousands of readers. What a surreal experience to be able to say I have a website that I am truly proud of.

I never thought of myself as a deeply creative person, but the amount of learning this platform had allowed me to do is unbelievable. Not only do I get to write, which is one of my favourite things, but I get to explore web design, social media, themes, aesthetics and so much more.

I can’t believe that what started off as “I really need a hobby” has grown into a platform of self-expression. The blog also caused some life adjustments and learning. For instance, time management is a huge item. If I’d miss posting a blog, I would get so frustrated with myself. Before I knew it, I had to learn to be kinder to myself, manage expectations and be proud regardless of whether I put out one blog or none that week.

Now all I can think of is all of the opportunities that lay ahead! The ways that the blog can go forward, as well as my other dreams. Pursuing one goal has led to me wanting to achieve more and more!

So, I have to thank every person who read the fashion favorites, love tips, vacation stories and stories of struggle.

 Hi Gems,  Wow it has been a while. The last time I wrote and published on here was in October which honestly feels like a lifetime. As the holidays came and went, we rang in the new year and I find myself thinking a lot about not only lessons learned this year but the direction I want to aim for when going into 2024.  As you may know if you follow my other platforms, I am getting married this year which feels surreal! Furniture shopping

 Hey gems,  I hope you are all enjoying the sunshine as summer is approaching! We have been busy trying to pick out all the furniture for the new place. It has been quite a wild journey to get here so I thought I would take some time to review everything that has been going on! Firstly, my favourite store by far is Structube , it is my favourite place and has such a great variety of items but way less overwhelming then a big store like Ikea.  The first thing we picked is our dining table and chairs. The chairs are warm brown leather and the table has a fake live edge that I LOVE! This was the easiest item to choose by far! This is all in a warm theme and tones that will go well with the dark floors and cabinets. We also have been very budget conscious in the whole process and the table was a great price for a larger size so this was a no-brainer.  The next main items I picked out are decor because I had some very specific ideas like a gallery wall and big mirrors! Low budget Fall (lockdown) date ideas

Hey gems! How is everyone doing? Recently I have had to get super creative when it comes to date nights especially with the new lockdown we are limited in where we can go. So of course date night often include walks because not only is it great to get fresh air but it helps with the mental components of being stuck inside. We get tired of them quick though and need to mix it up during the week so here is what I came up with! Turn TV into games: You can chose any show or movie you are watching and turn it into a game! For example, every time a certain character says their catch phrase you either take a bite, drink or do something silly that you both agree on! it can be something silly or answering any question! This basically gets as creative as you want to! Newlywed game (quiz) Basically any type of quizzing each other on how well you know each other! We did this with my sister and her boyfriend as a competition but it can be fun just between the two of you as well! This is super cute ...
